Alpine desert watersheds are filled with whitewater spirits, from caps and crests to the beings that live on their banks and in their depths to the ancient shell mounds and coral reefs that underlie their beds. With these earrings, Wings evokes these ancient spirits and their power, framed in the metallic beauty of the geologic formations of this place. Each strand of hand-selected beads is strung on filament-thin sterling silver wire: at the center, giant orbs of white coral, lightly polished and richly textured still, flanked by slender barrels of Nepalese inlay, white shell interspersed with glowing brass. At top and bottom, paired spheres of iron pyrite form solid, shimmering anchors. Earrings hang 2.75″ long excluding wires (dimensions approximate); sterling silver coil-and-ball-bead French wires hold them securely. Designed jointly by Wings and Aji.
