Summer here is traditionally the season when the rain finally falls, a cloudburst waterfall from a lowering thunderhead sky. With this necklace in the final entry in his signature series, The Elementals, Wings gathers the clouds to summon a torrent of rain, occasional hail, and a few bits of turquoise sky peering around the blue-black wall of the storm. The strand is anchored by pairs of Hand-made Ethiopian silver barrel beads embracing a single round of icy rainbow moonstone, then bisects quartets of old lapis lazuli and cornflower-blue dumortierite in a gradient of size and shade. Moving downward, bright blue kyanite rounds alternate with soft gray cloud jasper to flank barrels of webbed terra agate in shades of turquoise marbled with stormy midnight and golden light. Single barrels of Ethiopian silver herald a change from blue skies to storm, with a short gradient of kyanite in three shades and sizes leading to snowflake obsidian rounds highlighting segments of Picasso jasper in shades of charcoal and iron. At the center sits a single fabulously included barrel of deep violet blue iolite (much more obviously violet than it appears in the image), webbed with cloud and rain and light.
