The path of medicine is the path of the light, and reminds us that when we follow it, we walk the way of the Earth. Wings brings together path, light, medicine, and the power of feminine spirits with this entry in his signature series, the Warrior Woman. The pin is cut entirely freehand with a tiny jeweler’s saw, a few strategically placed traditional stamps evoking her facial features, hair, and traditional jewelry. Beneath a repoussé heart, her dress is stamped in a cascading blend of celestials symbols, atmospheric clouds and light below a spinning central orb. In her left hand she holds a crescent moon, stamped with the prints of the Ancient Ones, ancestors who traveled the earth and followed the light of the sun. In her right she holds a single glowing garnet cabochon, as red as the blood in our veins and the fire of our identities and spirits. Over her right shoulder, rests a coiled serpent, body formed of sterling silver pattern wire flowering in a vaguely Art Nouveau-ish design, its being a symbol of prosperity and abundance. Pin stands 2.75″ high by 2 inches across at the widest point; the carnelian cabochon is 3/16″ across (dimensions approximate).
