In the delicate balance of a high-desert climate, the greenest leaf is the jewel on the vine. Wings summons the vine in a circle sterling silver and sets it with a round orb of richly banded malachite in intense shades of seafoam and emerald and evergreen atop an extended silver backing. The band is formed of solid sterling silver pattern wire, heavy and substantial, a half-round shape traced along its length with a slender vine-and-flower pattern in sharp relief. The setting extends an eighth of an inch beyond the stone, its own green surface similarly traced with vines or with the veins of a leaf with parallel precision. The band is 1/4″ across; the setting is 1/2″ across; the malachite cabochon is 3/8″ across (dimensions approximate). Sizeable. Other views shown below.
