There is a rare beauty that blossoms with the flowering of night. With this newest entry in his longstanding signature series of Warrior Woman pins, Wings evokes the petals that flourish in the dark hours, the purple shades of night, and the Eye of Spirit that oversees it all. The entire pin is saw-cut freehand, with bare but graceful stampwork summoning the shape of her face and traditional bun. Her heart is hidden behind the adornment of her dress and necklace, the former accented with flowering medicine motifs, mostly paired and forming individual eyes within larger, more complex Eyes of Spirit. In her left hand she holds the crescent moon, traced with eight-pointed stars in orbit, each end of the arc terminating in a tiny classic five-pointed star. In her left hand she holds a tiny round cabochon of amethyst, electric shades of translucent purple, deep and mysterious. A serpent formed of hammered braid wire coils over her right shoulder, its spiral form symbolizing prosperity and abundance. Pin stands 2-3/4″ high by 2-7/8″ across at the widest point; cabochon is 3/16″ across (dimensions approximate).
