The bluest waters are best viewed from above, where the light grants them the fullest beauty. With this pendant, Wings summons the spirit of a green earth embracing the deepest blue of the First Medicine, the powerful and starkly beautiful lifeblood of the land. The pendant is built around a phenomenal focal cabochon of azurite in malachite, the azurite a remarkably intense mix of cobalt, royal, violet, and indigo blues, the malachite electric greens in flowing banded patterns with bits of coppery matrix near the top. It’s a shield-cut stone, inverted so that the narrow tip appears at the top, allowing the azurite to seem to flow on a downward diagonal, like a river. It’s set into a scalloped bezel edged with a fine strand of twisted silver; the bail is stamped freehand in a line of old geometric thunderhead motifs, stylized with a lodge-like symbol at the center. It hangs from a chunky old sterling silver rope chain, substantial enough to hold such a pendant of such seemingly talismanic properties.
