In some traditions, raindrops are thought to be the tears of the sky itself: shed in a wave of celestial emotion, an expression of love for the earth and those who call it home. Here, the teardrops are hardened rain from the north, beautiful, delicately-hued cabochons of Colorado’s Cripple Creek turquoise, delicate robin’s-egg blue with a mysteriously swirled matrix in shades of gold and white. Each stone is set in a scalloped bezel trimmed with twisted silver, suspended from tiny three-dimensional repoussé hearts fabricated entirely by hand. Earrings hang 1-5/8 inches long, exclusive of wires; stones (not including bezels) are 3/4″ long by 9/16″ across at the widest point (dimensions approximate).
