Alpine desert skies deepen their blues as they become caught in sunset’s web, fire and water braided together in one final embrace before fall of night. With these earrings, Wings summons the teal-blue turquoise of these clear twilight skies, veined and webbed by the last of the clouds, all limned in crimson fire. Each dancing freeform drop is built around an extraordinary cabochon of ultra-high-grade red-web Kingman turquoise, the reds rich and rusty and tightly woven, the blues so deep they’re nearly cobalt. The stones, a matched pair cut from the same specimen but not a perfect match for shape, are set into scalloped bezels and edged with twisted silver. An organic hand-drilled tab extends from the top of each bezel; sterling silver coil-and-ball-bead French wires are threaded through them. Earrings hang roughly 1-1/8″ long, excluding bails and wires, by some 3/4″ across at the widest point; cabochons are 7/8″ long by 5/8″ across at the widest point (dimensions approximate).
