This is a land of sunlight on red earth, of rich red-gold clay and craggy cliffs shimmering in the alpine desert light. With these earrings, Wings distills earth and light to drops, their abstract patterns like this land’s own art, resting in the silvered embrace of iridescent clouds. Each outsized teardrop is formed of Red Creek jasper, naturally occurring in shades and shapes at once bold and subtle. The earthy shades of the background dance with rich brick reds and a layer of gold that seems to drift across the surface, as though following the path of the sun. Each is set into a plain, low-profile bezel on a backing flanged just enough to accommodate the twisted silver that edges each stone. Sterling silver bails fused to the top center of their backings hold sterling silver coil-and-ball-bead French wires. Earrings hang 1-5/8″ long including bails (excluding wires); bezels are 1-1/2″ long by 3/4″ across at the widest point; cabochons are 1-1/4″ long by 5/8″ across at the widest point (dimensions approximate).
