“Summer’s Green Eye” Cuff Bracelet. $1,175. SOLD.

Our world thrives beneath summer’s green eye, grass tall and leaves full and wildflowers beginning to bloom. With this cuff, Wings honors season, shape, and shade via a classic slender silver band set with a single old and extraordinary green turquoise cabochon. The band is solid nine-gauge sterling silver, cut narrow and spare, stamped freehand in a repeating pattern of a single radiant point paired to form an arc of Eyes of Spirit. At the very center, resting in a bezel both saw-cut and filed entirely by hand, is a large and graceful cabochon of old natural turquoise in a soft seafoam green shade. The shape is a melding of marquise and ellipse cuts, the points at either end gently rounded, and the cabochon rests in a bed of dried cedar, the better to hold it securely in the bezel at the proper height.  The turquoise is too old to declare provenance with any certainty now, but the color and matrix strongly suggests that either the old Pixie or Stennich mines in Nevada, both sources of now-rare material, are the most likely. The inner band is scattered with individual traditional motifs on either side of the hallmark. Band is 6″ long by 5/16″ wide; turquoise cabochon is 1″ long by 3/8″ across at the widest point (dimensions approximate). Other views shown below.

Sterling silver; old natural American turquoise, likely either Pixie or Stennich (both from Nevada); dried cedar
