The summer spirits of earth and water blossom like pearls in flower. Wings evokes spirits, shell, petals, and soft warm light with this bead necklace. Strung on sterling silver bead chain ending in sterling silver findings and cones, each end is anchored by the four diminutive silver-colored African metal beads followed by the tiniest of violet-brown pen-shell heishi. Each side flows inward on a cascade of graduated barrel and rondel beads in Labradorite with soft green undertones. As the beads grow in size and length, the Labradorite alternates with round tourmaline beads in ones and twos, their colors ranging from gold-lit spring greens to fiery red shades. At the center rests a solitary free-form teardrop of half-polished abalone shell, flanked on either side by a quartet of tourmaline beads ranging from soft pink to rose to the fire of gold and copper. Strand is 18″ long, excluding findings (dimensions approximate). Designed jointly by Wings and Aji. Part of The Beaded Hoop Collection. Coordinates with Seed and Shell earrings. Long view shown below.
