If blue is the worldwide color of conflict resolution, in places of high desert, the heavens deliver peace from the sky. Wings evokes this land’s vaulted expanse and the sense of serenity that accompanies it with these earrings formed of spectacularly large single beads. Each bead consists of a pair of paper-thin veneers of turquoise in a perfect shade of robin’s-egg blue, each accented with scattered bits of earthy, coppery matrix. The veneers are melded solidly to composite backings, then cut into the classic symbol that represents peace the whole world over. each bead is hand-drilled at the top and strung with a pair of sterling silver jump rings, which in turn suspend them from delicate sterling silver wires. Earrings are 1-5/16″ inches across (dimensions approximate).
