For the first time, the traditional pine ladder that allows the People every day to emerge, renewed, into the light takes its place as a separate structural element, rendered as a necklace in solid sterling silver. As with the wooden pine ladders used daily, it features poles of differing lengths to allow for ease of use, and separate steps lashed together — here, with fine sterling silver wire.
