Sometimes the simplest things are the most meaningful.
For us, it all comes back to the circle: the sacred hoop of life, as it was given to us in the old way.
Oh, it manifests in all sorts of forms and shapes and directions, both in this world and in others beyond our senses. But from the circle we are born, and to it we return, the enfolding embrace of our ancestors and our traditions.
It’s a metaphor for our own lives, yes, but more, it’s a symbol of our peoples and our very survival: a tangible expression of joining together, the union of marriage; a sign of the birth of a child, who will carry our people’s identity into the next generation; a tribute to one who has walked on. It is the unbroken line that connects us to the ancient ones, and to our children’s children in a future we will never see in person.
Once in a while, Wings creates a simple piece so deceptively simple, yet weighted with such strength of meaning, that it almost defies naming or description. This is one.
From its description in the Rings Gallery here on the site:
Twinfinite
The circle is a symbol of life: individual, familial, cultural. It represents the sacred path that we have been given, one with no beginning and no end. that hoop of being that connects us to our ancestors and to our children’s children, even unto the seventh generation: a sign of The Infinite. And so it is with this simple, slender ring, infinity paired and shared: two sterling silver bands fused organically, each arising out of the same whole, simultaneously conjoining into one. Perfect to mark a wedding, an anniversary, the birth of a child or grandchild, to remember a loved one. Unisex; sizeable.

It’s a beautifully spare tribute to that which is truly infinite, to the love and life we all share, in all its incarnations and manifestations: a recognition of family, of history, of culture, of identity.
It’s another way of saying: We are.
