The bare bones of the cold season grant us a glimpse of illuminated earth, its marbled surfaces shimmering in the gray and wintry light. Wings brings earth and sky and light together in these cool, graceful earrings of simple shapes and spare design. The dangling drops are hand-milled in a whorled earth pattern, showing its marbled surfaces and strata, then cut freehand in long, slender asymmetrical drops, the better to show off the interplay of lines and light. near the bottom of each pendant a small square cabochon of luminous black-lip mother-of-pearl shell is turned at right angles and bezel-set in a diamond shape, a glowing Eye of Spirit at the center of a winter’s storm. Earrings hang 3.25″ long (excluding wires) and 7/16″ across at the widest point; cabochons are 5/16″ across (dimensions approximate).
