“Cholla Blossoms” Earrings. $425. SOLD.

In spring, these alpine desert lands begin to bloom, cholla blossoms shielding their cactus spines and spikes from view and painting the landscape in shades of wine and flame and sun. With these concha-style floral earrings, Wings pays tribute to the deepest-hued among their kind, the rich red wine-colored blossoms that bring the desert to life. Each dangling drop is saw-cut individually and each petal scored freehand, then domed lightly from the reverse to create the concha-like shape that allows them to hang to best effect. At the center of each, a round cabochon of glowing garnet, its intense scarlet hues lit from within, rests in a saw-toothed bezel. Sterling silver coil-and-ball-bead French wires are threaded through sterling silver jump rings soldered securely to the top-center reverse. Earrings hang 1″ long (excluding wires) by 7/8″ across; garnet cabochons are 1/4″ across (all dimensions approximate).
