Our world orbits around a rolling sun, giver of warmth and breath and light. With this ring, Wings honors the old traditional symbolism, and reminds us that it makes sight, perception, respiration all possible, for us, and for our animal and plant relatives too. The focal is formed of a single thick round plate of sterling silver, stamped freehand with a sacred hoop at the center, eleven crescent-like rays radiating outward from it in the ancient “rolling sun” motif found everywhere from pictographs and petroglyphs to contemporary works of art. It’s set upon the top of a solid sterling silver band of similarly heavy gauge, cut medium-wide and stamped in motifs of giant sunbursts worthy of the star that creates them alternating with simple blossoms, petals opened wide to dance in wind and light. Band is 5/16″ wide; focal is 3/4″ across (dimensions approximate). Ring is currently sized at 13.75; resizeable. Other views show below.
