“Berry Moons and Blue Skies” Earrings. $175. SOLD.

Summer here is the season of berry moons and blue skies, the former looming close and glowing pale rose, the latter as bright as the Skystone that borrows their name. With these earrings, Wings summons the brilliant beauty of those moons of planting and early harvest, along with the electric turquoise blues of the daylight skies that hold the moons’ waning profiles. Each strand of hand-selected beads is strung on filament-thin sterling silver wire: At center, three large orbs of South Sea shell pearls separated by heishi-style discs of natural American turquoise. South Sea shell beads are formed of natural materials by human hands, made of the shells of the oysters that naturally create pearls, treated and melded into perfect spheres, color added in the shades of cultured pearls. Here, the center is a deep spice shade, the outer two a dusty rose, and the discs between them are likely Sleeping Beauty turquoise. At top and bottom, paired small orbs of mixed spiderweb turquoise and bright clear Persian turquoise form anchor each strand. Earrings hang 2.75″ long excluding wires (dimensions approximate); sterling silver coil-and-ball-bead French wires hold them securely. Designed jointly by Wings and Aji.

Sterling silver; a mix of old spiderweb and Persian turquoise; natural American turquoise, likely Sleeping Beauty; South Sea shell “pearls”
