A medicine rain allows our whole world to grow and thrive. With this newest entry in his longstanding signature series of Warrior Woman pins, Wings honors the healing power of the First Medicine, and the flowering petals of a lush and fertile land. The entire pin is saw-cut freehand, with elegantly minimalist stampwork to evoke her face in profile and her traditional bun. At the top of her dress, her great heart rises in sharp relief, its convex surface formed via repoussé techniques. The front of her dress is adorned with the imagery of flowers and light, two giant sunburst motifs opening like blossoms above a smaller radiant arc. In her left hand she holds a crescent moon, classic raincloud symbols arrayed around its arc; in her right, she carries a tiny round cabochon of rich green jade, the color of aspen leaf and alpine grass and evergreen. Over her right shoulder is coiled a serpent of hammered braid wire, a spiraling symbol of prosperity and abundance. Pin stands 2-3/4″ high by 2-7/8″ across at the widest point; cabochon is 3/16″ across (dimensions approximate).
