In the desert, the earth thrives in a flowering dark. So, too, do the warriors, women who blossom and grow in strength and power even in the darkest night or fiercest storm. With this latest entry in his signature Warrior Woman, created in memory of his mother and in honor of women’s courage and power, Wings shows the beauty of that which blooms even in the dark hours. Cut freehand from sterling silver, she wears regalia adorned by a breastplate of blossoms, linked at the sides by small scalloped stamps and cascading down her dress beneath an overlaid repoussé heart that signifies the boldness of her love and spirit. The same flowering motif dances across the surface of the moon she holds in her left hand; a tiny round onyx cabochon, glossy as pitch and black as jet, rests in her right. Over her right shoulder coils a serpent formed of sterling silver patterned wire, representing good fortune, prosperity, and abundance. Pin stands 2/75″ high by 2″ across at the widest point; cabochon is 3/16″ across (dimensions approximate).
