“The Fire At the Storm’s Heart” Warrior Woman Pin. $325. SOLD.

In the midst of the rain, it’s easy to forget the fire at the storm’s heart. Wings weaves these seemingly oppositional elements into one powerful piece with this latest entry in his signature series, the Warrior Woman. Cut freehand from sterling silver, this brave defender wears the symbols of the storm, of the winds and the sacred directions, chased down the front of her dress. Above their tributes to the earth’s own sacred space, her repoussé beats bold and strong; more hearts trace an arc around the crescent moon in her left hand. In her right, she holds a tin round blood-red carnelian, the color of hearts and the love they represent, and of the fire of both the spirit and of literal flame. A serpent of braided sterling silver wire coils from her right shoulder, a symbol of prosperity and abundance and the unifying power of opposing forces. Pin stands 2.75″ high by 2 inches across at the widest point; the cabochon is 3/16″ across (dimensions approximate).
